Some client feedback

Chris Reside was appointed by the Migration Agents Registration Authority to its Professional Standards Committee (PSC) during November 2004.

PSC members are appointed nationally to assist the Authority investigate complaints about registered migration agents (and former registered migration agents), and if necessary, to recommend appropriate disciplinary action.

As a PSC member, Chris has specific accountability for:

David Mawson
Chief Executive Officer
Migration Agents Registration Authority
March 2006

I initially engaged Chris Reside to assist the City of Wyndham prepare contract documentation for its 2005 general elections – though soon retained his services for a growing list of governance assignments.

Working with little direction beyond agreeing on time frame and outcome, Chris used his management skills and broad corporate experience to achieve the desired results. I particularly appreciated being able to confidently assign projects to Chris in the knowledge that they would be managed professionally with a high standard outcome.

Chris has extensive senior management experience, which was evidenced by his astute handling of diverse assignments – and his ability to ‘value add’.

He is undaunted by challenges, maintains a friendly and professional demeanor, and most importantly – gets results!

In short: he is cost effective, professional, and a pleasure to work with!

“The Feedback on Chris' work was extremely positive – particularly his speech writing.

Chris has a wealth of senior local government experience and contacts and an astute eye for writing about politically sensitive issues. A feature of his style is his ability to explain complex issues simply. He is an engaging and creative writer.

He has a very approachable, ‘unflappable', and professional manner, and liaises comfortably with Councillors and senior officers alike.

Chris consistently produces quality results on time regardless of how tight the time frame.

He coped admirably with the many and varied requests for rewrites as the briefs given to him changed. The finished results were always first class.”

“It is with pleasure that l provide this client reference for Chris Reside – freelance corporate writer.

Chris successfully revised the Rules of Association (constitution) of the Municipal Works Officers Association and turned a complicated, ‘unreadable beast' of a document, into a set of plain English, functional rules which have now been formally adopted by the membership.

As you will appreciate, the Rules of Association are critical to the operation of the Association itself.

In completing the assignment, Chris:

•  liaised with me personally as frequently as necessary

•  offered many practical suggestions (which where incorporated into the revised Rules) to enhance the efficiency of the Board and good governance of the Association

•  provided a comprehensive plain English explanation to the Board and membership, as to the reasoning behind the recommended changes.

Chris kept me fully informed of the progress of the assignment, was full and frank in his advice, and provided a thorough and reliable service.

His good humour and significant interpersonal skills were also warmly received.”

Dear Chris,

What a triumph. Congratulations. He (the Lord Mayor) sounded great. Why was that? It must have been the words that were written for him.

Thank you so much.

I have already had positive feed back on the speech.

I look forward to receiving your account!

It was great working with you (again)
